I’ve added a number of new pieces to the “Media – Guitar Performance” page: versions of Ellington’s “Cottontail”, “My Funny Valentine” and “Have You Met Miss Jones” by Rodgers and Hart, and a solo guitar version of Sonic Youth’s “The Diamond Sea”.
Here are some links.

Spring Update, pt. 2: Gigs and Recording
Had some lovely gigs at the Jumping Bean on Mar 7 and the Rocket Bakery on Mar 28 – and my next performance will be Apr 26 at the Spirit Bar at 9 pm. I also finally made it out to The Ship’s Night Music last week, hosted by the Former Eraser, and enjoyed a wonderful jam with some excellent players.
Continuing my study of jazz standards, I was proud of this version of “My Funny Valentine”, expanded with looper and Ebow:
Spring Update, pt. 1: CKUT charts
It’s been a fun couple of months. Opening remained on CKUT’s album chart for four weeks from Jan 21-Feb 11 so thanks again so much for the support!

January Roundup
In addition to recording “Black Orpheus”, it was a good month – more radio station support, including making Montreal campus/community station CKUT’s top 5 for the week of January 21.

J’ai aussi lancé ma deuxième vidéo au sujet de l’harmonie:
Lastly I had a great time playing a lunchtime gig at the Rocket Bakery and Cafe on Water St. in St. John’s yesterday (Jan 31). Looking forward to more exciting activity in February.
Manhã de Carnaval (Black Orpheus)
Here’s a solo classical guitar interpretation of the Luiz Bonfa classic: https://soundcloud.com/sundar-subramanian/manha-de-carnaval-black-orpheus
Days of Wine and Roses
Recorded this version of the Mancini standard “Days of Wine and Roses” about a week ago, after a couple of rounds of feedback from Matt Warnock; stretched out a bit (click on the link below)
Remembrance Day single: Peace
Just arranged and recorded this interpretation of Ornette Coleman’s “Peace”: https://sundarsubramanian.bandcamp.com/track/peace
